The role of the sealing system is to protect the raceway system from contamination by humidity and other foreign particles and to retain the lubricant contained in the raceway system.

When designing the slewing bearing, the basic materials used are nitrile rubber, fluorine rubber, and low temperature resistant rubber. For high temperatures, fluororubber can be used.

Basic types of slewing ring sealing systems can be used for construction machinery or general mechanical slewing ring design applications.
